# Read the first collection

Know how to read the state of a source and recognize, from the nature of a failure, what to fix and where.

## The steps

1. On **Settings › Integration**, find the source card under **Connected sources**.
2. Read its state and the time of its last collection. If it failed, open its logs: Naoshift gives the nature of the problem there.
3. Fix it according to the table below, then run **Collect** again.

## The states of a source

| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| **Connected** | The last collection succeeded |
| **Collecting…** | The collector is working |
| **Waiting for first collection** | The source has just been declared |
| **Partial** | Part of the data could not be read, the rest is there |
| **Failed** | The collection did not complete |
| **Collector offline** | The problem is on the collector side, not the source |

Once the collection succeeds, open the dashboard: your data is there.
