# Find your way around the interface

Know where to look the first time, and know which scope you are reading.

## The three zones

- **The top bar**: scope filters, search, language, theme, the eye that reveals real names, the documentation and alerts.
- **The left menu**: the modules, grouped by area, with live counters on alerts, events and vulnerabilities.
- **The content area**: the current page.

## The menu, area by area

| Area | What you find there |
|---|---|
| **Overview** | The dashboard of your whole scope |
| **Assets** | The inventory, topology, storage and physical servers |
| **Operations** | Alerts, incidents, events, vulnerabilities, backups and reports |
| **Analytics** | Capacity, opportunities, recommendations, carbon and the simulator |
| **Transformation** | Sizing and scenario comparison |
| **Settings** | Source integration, users, thresholds and costs |

## The top bar filters

They apply to every screen, and stay in place when you change page:

1. Choose the **datacenter**, **cluster** or **source** to look at.
2. To read the past, choose a specific collection instead of the latest.
3. Click **Reset** to go back to the whole consolidated current state.

> A number surprises you? Look at the filters first: they are the leading cause of a gap.

## Search

The search field finds any object, whatever its platform: a machine, a host, a cluster. The `/` key puts the cursor there.
