# What Naoshift does

Place Naoshift in five minutes: what the platform brings, and what it does not do without your decision.

## In one sentence

Naoshift is an administration and analysis console for virtualized infrastructure: all your hypervisors, in one console. It reads VMware vSphere, Proxmox VE, XCP-ng, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV and other platforms, and turns them into an up-to-date inventory, risks, capacity forecasts and an action plan.

## What you get from it

| Your question | Where Naoshift answers |
|---|---|
| What do I have, and where? | A consolidated inventory of your clusters, hosts, machines, storage and networks |
| What is at risk? | Alerts on configuration, CVEs and end-of-support systems |
| When will I run out of capacity? | A saturation date per cluster and per datastore |
| Are my machines backed up? | Your backups matched to each machine |
| Why did this node go down? | Dated incidents and a root-cause analysis |
| How do I act without opening five consoles? | Day-to-day operations from one screen, traced |

## What stays under your control

- **Collection is read-only.** Writing to a platform never goes through the collection account.
- **Writing is enabled target by target**, with a dedicated account, and every action is traced before it runs.
- **The agent is outbound.** It is installed on a machine in your network, nothing is installed on the hypervisors, and no inbound port is opened.
- **Names can stay with you.** With anonymization, they are replaced by tokens at collection, and only you reveal them on screen.

## Who it is for

Naoshift is for CIOs and infrastructure leads, operations teams, integrators and hosting providers. The next path depends on your role: [connect your infrastructure](/en/connect) if you lead infrastructure.
